Biography:
Mathias Kirkegaard is an instrument designer and electronic music enthusiast, who is concerned with improving the possibilities of physical engagement, improvisation and performance in electronic music.
His research interests lies within interface design, gestural control, mapping and algorithmic sequencing. This has led him through developing software for generative music, audio-visual installations and latest an algorithmic hardware sequencer under the company Torso electronics, which he co-founded in Denmark in 2018.
He has an undergraduate in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, and is currently studying as a masters student at McGill Music Technology under the supervision of Marcelo M. Wanderley.
